About a decade ago, I crocheted a simple hat for my brother Tripp. He’s worn that same hat pretty much every day during every northern New York winter since then. It’s only now that he’s finally come to the point where a new one is necessary!

The pattern I used is long gone, so I used my own, which will soon be available through Ravelry.

It required two hooks, a J for the body and an I for the last two rows. It also used only three stitches, a dc, a hdc, and a sc. Totally simple, totally versatile, and totally quick!

I used the same yarns I did a decade ago, just different colors. Lion Brand Wool-Ease stands up to a LOT of wear and heavy use!
