I’ve been reading and rereading Mercedes Lackey’s Valdemar saga since the very first book was published in 1987. It’s a saga comprised of standalone novels, series, anthologies (written by Lackey and other authors), mini stories, and a slew of essays. It’s also on going, but as of today there are, with at least two novels and one anthology on the way:
- books (non-anthologies): 41
- anthologies: 18 with 316+ stories total
- short stories (not found as part of other stories): 4
- essays: at least a dozen
I thought it was about time I made a bookghan reflecting my love for this series. So I’m going to do a square for each book and anthology as I read them. I’m also going to do corner squares and squares to separate each series, all with the same pattern and yarns. And I’m going to use three different squares to make my bookghan.

book squares: alternating a basic granny with the Starburst Granny, both by Krista of This is Crochet
